Agricultural Biotechnology Internship
Description
Algaen Corporation is a biotechnology company, exploiting and utilizing microalgae to develop, produce and market cutting-edge bioproducts for food, nutraceutical & pharmaceutical, and aquaculture industries to improve human health. We leverage our unique product development capabilities and proprietary manufacturing technologies to commercialize high-value algae-based products from microalgae.
The intern will participate in a National Science Foundation funded project for development of a high-performing biochromic window system that reduces building energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, while producing high-valued byproducts from microalgae. This internship is funded through the Industrial Internship Program at the North Carolina Biotechnology Program, which is designed to provide real-world work experience, which helps students transition to careers in North Carolina's growing life sciences sector.
Requirements
Qualifications required: undergraduate students in biology or chemistry major with basic training on laboratory work, and are interested in developing future career in biotechnology or agriculture.
This is a summer internship. Specific dates can be flexible based on company and intern needs.
