SUMMARY: The Integrated Strategy Director is a high-visibility strategic partner to support the Commercial Organization. The person in this role will work with leadership across business development, finance, commercial operations, and business units, contributing to the vision and strategy of external and internal client deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Planning, designing, implementing, and overall management of strategic, cross-functional initiatives most important to the commercial organization by leading cross-functional teams and connecting across key stakeholders.

  • Ensure quality execution of organizational optimization initiatives by monitoring and reporting progress, tracking results and challenges, and identifying and sharing key insights.

  • Analyze performance data against solution expectations, generate insights and recommendations to address any strategic concerns; evaluate and implement improvements to drive business growth at scale.

  • Influence & align with high-profile client engagement opportunities to ensure quality customer support and enablement, and a focus on customer value/experience, retention, and growth.

  • Attend key bid defense preparations, face to face meetings, and conferences to provide strategic guidance, including message development and refinement, leveraging existing work.

  • Establish and maintain client relationships, as needed, to support early engagement and identify opportunities to remove barriers to meet internal and external client needs holistically throughout the lifecycle of opportunities.

  • Develop actionable recommendations by soliciting stakeholder input and synthesizing sales, operational, and financial data to generate meaningful insights.

  • Foster an innovative culture by building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across multiple departments and business units.

  • Apply consulting, analytical, and strategic experience to solve complex problems and drive execution of critical strategic priorities.

  • Obtain approvals and consensus from relevant stakeholders as required to enable cross functional engagement and support prior to implementation of initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science, Business Management, or related field required (MBA a plus).

  • Minimum of 10 years in the pharmaceutical, CRO, or related industry, experience to include Sales, clinical operations, other Commercial and /or alternative operational functional.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of operational aspects of Phase I-IV clinical research and experience working with a Contract Research Organization.

  • Detail- and service-oriented, and able to work under pressure.

  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Equal proficiency as a self-starter and team contributor.

  • Experience with stakeholder management and partnering effectively on cross-functional projects or teams.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.

  • Outstanding communication skills, including proficiency in writing, PPT development and delivery, and verbal.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to deliver results to the appropriate quality and timeline metrics.

  • Strong facilitation and collaboration skills.

  • Passion for team culture and development.

  • Strong team leadership skills.

  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Strong software and computer skills, including MS Office applications.

  • Creative and strategic thinking.

  • Project Management – leads large cross functional project teams with limited formal authority and helps deliver on team objectives.

  • Influence – challenges data or inputs that are inconsistent with expectations and prior experience and proposes specific alternatives.

  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

Promotion to the next level is not automatic based on years of experience. Personnel are evaluated on proven competency, level of responsibility, and ability to work independently.
