About the role:
The Rare Patient Experience Design and Strategy Lead plays a pivotal function in shaping, optimizing, and sustaining the holistic patient experience through ONWARD, UCB’s Patient Support Program, which supports patients prescribed UCB rare medications. The role also ensures that UCB’s Rare Patient Services remain agile and responsive to evolving patient needs, emerging market trends, and regulatory requirements.
Who you’ll work with:
- Work closely with internal IT and agency partners on understanding deployment operations inbounds, upcoming deliverables, and technical campaign executions
- Partner with PSP Operations team members and engagement team members to continue to optimize the patient experience
- Partner with brand team and matrix stakeholders to identify brand-specific pull through opportunities and ensure a clear understanding of the patient experience
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate with the agency of record in developing and managing insights-based tactical plans to prioritize efforts that deliver impact and utilize resources efficiently
- Manage a team to deliver the end-to-end development of customer facing and multichannel marketing promotional materials
- Monitor external environment and ensure timely stakeholder (both home office and customer-facing) communications that clearly inform and offer strategic guidance where appropriate
- Transform data into actionable insights, defining key KPIs, in order to track program effectiveness and adherence
- Identify opportunities to improve processes & tools and champion the change to help the organization continue to evolve and transform.
- Partner with PSP Operations team members and engagement team members to continue to optimize the patient experience
- Partner with brand team and matrix stakeholders to identify brand-specific pull through opportunities and ensure a clear understanding of the patient experience
- Proactively monitor & synthesize syndicated market research and external issues impacting pharmaceutical delivery and reimbursement including industry trends, public policy and the competitive landscape
- Perform in-depth analyses of patient level engagement and other data sets across several channels to discover insights and make recommendations and decisions about engagement and channel choices
- Manages budgets for patient experience initiatives in collaboration with the broader PSP team and agency partners

Basic Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree required
- 10+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA preferred
- launch experience preferred
- Proven learning agility with a high level of motivation and a strong ability to find creative solutions to challenging, unstructured situations
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills – ability to influence across the internal matrix to drive change and gain stakeholder support
- Experience with and understanding of Pharmaceutical Marketing Competencies (i.e. segmentation, customer insight, positioning, marketing mix)
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated analytical skills
- Prior experience working with key internal stakeholders including marketing, legal, market access, privacy, and compliance
- Works well under pressure, is able to manage multiple priorities with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proactivity through planning, scheduling, and resourcing skills
- Prior experience working with Manufacturer-Sponsored Patient Support Programs preferred
- Attention to detail, organization, tech savvy, proactive follow-up, and maintaining a customer-focused attitude
- Ability to operate at a strategic level but also possessing the willingness to roll up sleeves and get into the details and execute tactics as needed
- Strong project management skills with a proven track record in coordinating multiple projects across various cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
