As an EHS Specialist II – Industrial Hygienist Assistant, you will help determine and implement safety measures that ensure a healthier, safer workplace. Your work will have a direct, positive impact on our employees and operations!
A day in the Life:
- Conduct workplace hazard assessments and develop plans to control or eliminate hazards
- Lead development and help implement industrial hygiene programs, including air monitoring, noise monitoring, and chemical exposure assessments
- Provide training and education to employees on health and safety issues, and conduct regular safety audits
- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and maintenance, to implement solutions to health and safety issues
- Acts as site IH subject-matter expert; designs mitigation strategies
- Interpret and apply federal and state regulations related to health and safety acting as regulatory liaison
- Assist in collaborating with leadership to maintain high standards
Keys to Success:
- Demonstrated some history in industrial hygiene
- Strong collaborative skills
- Ambitious and diligent approach
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field or equivalent experience required.
Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in industrial hygiene activities
- Pharmaceutical IH experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong understanding of safety regulations
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability to implement and monitor safety protocols closely
- Proficiency in using industrial hygiene monitoring equipment
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
This role involves regular site inspections, requiring both office and fieldwork. Must be able to wear protective equipment as needed.
