Job Description

Product Handler II -Paint (1st First)

Position Summary: Pre-inspects quality of fabricated parts and loads and unloads for paint line process onto automatic conveyor paint line. Delivers painted parts to internal assembly lines. Carries out routine procedures according to written work instructions to finish manufacturing processes. Maintains documentation on manufacturing processes to align with organization and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all parts are hung in the accurate color order. Verify that the accurate part number, quantity, color, and destination is present.
  • Remove painted items and visually inspect for any defects and accurate coverage. Touch up small defects as needed.
  • Apply various protective supplies to ensure all parts delivered to the assembly lines are free of any dings/dents, scratches, and scuff marks. Deliver finished goods to manufacturing lines or store in designated racks.
  • Perform other duties, provide support and coverage on all operations on line as requested by supervisor. Cross-training and flexibility required.
  • Perform all duties using required safety procedures and equipment according to company policies and practices within guidelines of ISO standards, quality, and safety. Maintain a clean and organized work area that supports co-workers as well as safety and efficiency.
  • Engage, initiate, and suggest initiatives that support team goals and continuous improvement in process.
  • Communicate effectively within cell or with other departments to relay key information. Open to and ask for suggestions of others regarding production issues and goals.
  • Perform all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics and the 4-I Values, serve as a role model in the workplace. Train and mentor new employees or transitioning workers in the area.
  • Apply computer systems to check e-mail, complete online training, and complete the Performance Management and Development (PMD) annual review process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Standing, bending, reaching and handling bulky parts is common to the job. Frequently lifts up to 35 pounds.
  • Beginner computer skills or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and differentiate part numbers, labels, and work instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of spray finish tools and processes is preferred.
