The PGM is responsible for coordinating programs led by both the IT PMO and business leadership, developing initiatives that span multiple years and drive the Group’s strategic direction. These could include improvements to business processes, growing into new markets, ensuring compliance, and transformation through technology. Together, we can have a significant impact on programs that put the patient first and advance our business goals!

To succeed in this role, you will need prior experience in project, program, release management, organizational change, and team management. Deep experience with the complexities of delivering major programs in regulated environments (e.g., GxP/SOX/HIPAA/GDPR) is important to your success. A solid understanding of drug discovery, clinical trials, supply chain logistics, and business operations will help you excel.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate programs and activities in accordance with both business and IT mission and goals.
  • Develop new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization, including business transformation and technology innovation.
  • Contribute to the development of, and lead progress towards, long-term business and IT goals.
  • Develop budgets and operating plans for both business and IT programs.
  • Create metrics to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement in business processes and IT systems.
  • Write program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of business and IT services.
  • Lead a matrixed team with a diverse array of business and technical talents and responsibilities.
  • Ensure goals are met regarding customer satisfaction, safety, quality, team performance, and business impact.
  • Implement and lead changes to achieve overall business and IT program goals.
  • Meet with customers and partners to make communication easy and clear regarding program issues and decisions on services.
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.
  • Analyze program risks and cross-project dependencies to minimize impact on business and IT outcomes.
  • Lead the day-to-day activities of multiple resources as defined by the program strategy, including business analysts, project managers, and technical staff. Evaluate project managers and other staff as needed.

Program Manager Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Healthcare IT, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience managing business and IT projects and programs in healthcare (Biotech, Pharma, Medical Device, etc.).
  • Proven experience in program management, customer engagement, and leading managers across business and IT functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Detailed understanding of project management methods, business process improvement, and standard practices for program delivery.
  • Knowledge of technology and business landscapes, and how they influence strategies to deliver on shareholder expectations (Revenue, Operating Margin, Customer Satisfaction).
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving ability in both business and technical contexts.
