Join our Materials team now to support customers in achieving scientific goals quickly, successfully, and safely.
How will you make an impact?
- Responsible for performing the physical or combined administrative/physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, counting and picking of materials for Production orders and Sales Orders.
What will you do?
- Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and accurately process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.
- Sustain a high level of quality to ensure customers receive accurate product and in the time requested.
- Receive materials and/or finished goods daily.
- Verify the quality, type and amount of materials received are accurate and that the appropriate documentation is present (e.g. packing list).
- Handle critical items with a very high attention to detail.
- Unpack, label, and put inventory items into stockroom locations.
- Perform weekly cycle counts and other inventory control initiatives.
- Develop positive relationships with internal departments, external customers, and suppliers.
How will you get here?
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
Experience:
- Ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet schedules required.
- Skill to operate powered industrial trucks and with the ability to operate the equipment at various heights.
- Need basic digital literacy to navigate ERP systems, Baan, Bridgelogix and Outlook software in order to support the operation in its daily functions.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Good interpersonal skills and customer service skills required.
- Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
- Precision is important when carrying out daily responsibilities; inaccuracies in tasks may lead to disruptions in production timelines.
- Must be ready to start work timely daily and maintain strong attendance performance.
- Ability to receive and complete general instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignments.
- Equipment training will be provided through one-on-one instruction, on-the-job training (OJT), Thermo Fisher Scientific generated Standard Training Protocol (STP) and/or other training documentation.
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse environment under various temperatures.
- Perform work of a highly repetitive nature.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, stretch, and transport objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs and frequently ascend ladders.
- May occasionally sit, kneel and crouch.
- May handle “packaged” hazardous materials.
- Due to business needs, must be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed.
