How You Will Make an Impact:
- Key player of a laboratory team performing right-the-first time media and buffer preparations for Process Development and Quality Control.
- Drive excellent adherence to compliance, safe laboratory techniques, workload scheduling ensuring costumer allegiance.
- Innovate and apply practical process improvement to streamline laboratory operations.
- Deliver on committed contractual scope of work.
- Assist with tracking business metrics, inbox monitoring and responses, work order closures, etc. per service level agreements.
- Follow SOPs, work instructions, all safety procedures, prepare for site audits, and use client computer systems to supervise work.
- Follow Good Documentation Practices in all record keeping
- Drive process improvement culture by supporting Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives.
- Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations, expertly and positively.
- May perform other responsibilities..
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain areas in high state of inspection readiness including laboratory housekeeping and compliance.
- Complete task associated to laboratory operations (e.g., perform calculations for media/solution preparations, weighing, dispensing, filtration, labeling, dilutions, aseptic technique skills, troubleshooting, cell culture support, microbial agar plates, verification and calibration of benchtop equipment including balance, pH/conductivity meters, Osmometer, Blood gas analyzer, HiRes Cedex, YSI.)
- Perform verification/approval of peer documentation in electronic systems and equipment logbooks in adherence with SOP's.
- Align with company vision and mission of cross training and support different areas of service as require base on business needs and as assigned by Supervisor. (e.g., Inventory management / CRIS).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in a scientific field (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular biology, or related field) is required.
- 2 years of related experience within a laboratory setting is preferred. Experience working in customer service is also a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills; written and oral
- Experience in a laboratory environment; experience in GLP/GMP environment preferred
- Safety attitude in combination with compliance skills to encourage the expected results.
- Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner with deadlines, fluctuating workload, or last-minute changes.
- High level of attention to detail in both operations and documentation is required.
- Communicates efficiently with supervisor and peers.
- Validated excellence in customer service
- Knowledge in Laboratory Information management system and Laboratory notebook application
- Detail oriented and analytical; Decision making and problem-solving skills
- GMP/GLP compliance, audit critical records preferred
- Recognize & accurately report problems
- Proven understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Webex, PowerPoint)
- Experience writing laboratory procedures and work instructions.
- Organization and time management
- Working conditions include extensive walking/standing, ability to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds consistently, and handling of carcinogenic, mutagenic, and irritant classified chemicals
