Position Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Scientist to help drug the undruggable through cutting-edge computational drug design. As a key member of the Biology team, this hands-on role requires deep experience with protein and small molecule NMR techniques to support structure-based drug discovery. You will design and purify challenging protein targets and demonstrate binding of BEYOND-designed small molecules using NMR and orthogonal biophysical methods. You will collaborate in a dynamic interdisciplinary environment with structural biologists, biophysicists, biochemists, cell biologists, medicinal chemists, molecular dynamics modelers, and engineers building cutting-edge computational algorithms. This is an in-person lab-based position and will require reimbursed local travel to NMR facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design expression constructs and purify disease-relevant, challenging protein targets
• Own NMR strategy and execution at Ten63, including ligand- and protein-based methods to assess small molecule binding, elucidate binding sites and binding modes, and build understanding of protein dynamics
• Collaborate meaningfully with other members of the Biology, Chemistry, Design, and Engineering teams to meet company and project goals
• Communicate results clearly to a diverse multidisciplinary team

Required Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent experience in Biophysics, Structural Biology, or a related field
• 4+ years of relevant biotech/biopharma industry experience
• Proven experience purifying challenging proteins using a broad array of purification techniques
• Deep and demonstrated expertise in NMR (protein and small molecule)
• Ability to design rigorous experiments, troubleshoot independently, and communicate results across biology, chemistry, and computational teams
• Passion for tackling difficult therapeutic targets and working in an interdisciplinary discovery environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with orthogonal biophysical techniques for small molecule binding a plus (SPR, nanoDSF, ITC, etc.)
• Experience working in a drug discovery role
