Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Research Associate to join Ten63’s Biology team. You will be part of a multi-functional lab-based Biology team working side-by-side to tackle challenging drug discovery projects. You will purify previously undruggable proteins and assess the activity of novel small molecules via a variety of techniques. You will support and collaborate in a hands-on way the Senior Scientists in the lab to advance Ten63’s goal of discovering and developing novel small molecule therapeutics to change the treatment of cancer.

Responsibilities

• Support the Protein Sciences team by expressing and purifying disease-relevant proteins
• Employ established assays to test and report the activity of novel small molecules
• Document and communicate results clearly to project teams
• Collaborate effectively with other members of the Biology team to meet dynamic project goals

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related area, with 2+ years of lab experience.
• Experience in lab skills including buffer and media preparation, bacterial culture, plasmid purifications, PCR, gel electrophoresis, chromatography, and protein expression and purification are essential.
• Direct experience with AKTA systems required.
• Familiarity with biophysical and biochemical assays including fluorescence polarization and TR-FRET would be ideal.
• A strong positive attitude, great communication skills, excellent attention to detail and record keeping, and an ability to follow established lab protocols are important.
• Passion for tackling difficult therapeutic targets and working in an interdisciplinary discovery environment
