Job Description

Solvias is a global provider of chemistry, manufacturing, and control (CMC) analytics to the life sciences industry. Our expert team combines decades of experience with regulatory expertise across small molecules, biologics, and cell and gene therapies. Solvias offers end-to-end solutions from raw material testing to drug product release and API development for small molecules. Solvias is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Head of Finance to lead financial operations and growth initiatives for our U.S. footprint. This role will be located fully onsite at our Research Triangle Park location and reporting directly to the President of Solvias U.S., this high-impact leadership role is critical to driving financial performance, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making across our analytical services portfolio, including Biologics, Cell & Gene Therapy, and Small Molecule platforms. Occasional travel may be required, both domestically and internationally, depending on evolving business needs.

As Head of Finance, US, the ideal candidate will oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, and partner closely with commercial and operational teams to optimize profitability and resource allocation. This role will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, managing risk, and enabling scalable growth by leveraging Solvias’ global operational footprint.

  • Leading financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for the Company’s U.S. region
  • Driving strategic initiatives to improve financial performance and operational efficiency
  • Supporting commercial teams with pricing strategies, margin analysis, and revenue forecasting
  • Ensuring compliance with U.S. financial regulations and internal controls
  • Collaborating with local and global finance and scientific experts to align financial goals with business strategy
  • Manage and lead the U.S. Finance team
  • Lead and manage finance teams across all US entities, ensuring consistent practices and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Act as a key financial advisor to executive leadership on US operations.
  • Drive strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Set, deliver, and oversee the overall US budget, including individual budgets for each site/entity.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making and improve profitability.
  • Oversee payroll operations across all US entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations (fed, state, and local), and timely processing.
  • Oversee financial aspects of employee benefits, including 401(k) plan administration, in collaboration with HR and external providers.
  • Establish and document standardized financial processes and internal controls across US entities.
  • Develop and implement financial policies that align with corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across all US entities.
  • Support and lead financial aspects of organizational change, including system implementations, and restructuring.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience managing multi-entity financial operations and payroll in the US.
  • Proven track record in policy development and process improvement.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, Power BI).

Other Desired Skills/Abilities

  • Experience in a CDMO/CRO.
  • Proven experience as a finance leader with change management (site start-ups, M&A, restructuring initiatives, etc.)
