Job Description
Sipcam Agro USA is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance and Accounting Intern to support the Finance and Accounting team. The intern will gain valuable hands-on experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and general finance functions within the agricultural industry. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to apply your academic knowledge and develop practical skills in a dynamic business environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks such as data entry, invoice processing, and maintaining accurate financial records
- Help prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries for internal and external stakeholders
- Support the preparation and analysis of budget forecasts and financial planning
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments
- Help with reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card statements, and intercompany transactions
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including sales tax and other regulatory compliance tasks
- Analyze financial data and create reports for management, helping identify trends and opportunities
- Support the preparation of audit materials and assist with audit processes
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team, such as organizing documentation and assisting with project coordination
- Collaborate with team members on various ad hoc projects to improve financial processes and reporting systems
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with large sets of data
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with discretion and professionalism
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn about finance and accounting operations in a corporate environment
- Previous experience or coursework in accounting or finance is a plus but not required
