The Finance Business Partner – OTC serves as the financial business partner for the over-the-counter (OTC) business unit to commercial and operations functions. This position performs forecasting and budgeting duties and has reporting responsibility for the full profit and loss (P&L) of the OTC business unit. The Finance Business Partner – OTC maintains knowledge of the site’s manufacturing operations and financial systems and provides strategic reporting and analysis. The role inspects product costs, participates in strategic pricing decisions, and oversees the long-range planning and modeling for the OTC business.
| Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Develop and maintain ownership of OTC business unit’s five-year long-range plan with ability to perform scenario modeling.
- Manage all P&L budgeting and forecasting duties for the OTC business unit.
- Report on monthly performance vs. budget/forecast/prior years to corporate finance/controllership and operations leadership.
- Develop expertise in SAP and Hyperion financial systems.
- Provide strategic reporting and analysis of financial results and manufacturing operations, providing insight to drivers of business performance.
- Liaise with core BestCo Finance and Operations teams to ensure proper accounting allocations to the OTC income statement. Provide deep insights into manufacturing performance with a view to improve cost efficiencies.
- Lead improvements to systems and processes with the aim of providing increased visibility to performance and reduction of manual tasks.
- Validate product costs within the OTC business unit.
- Participate in strategic pricing decisions for new and existing products.
- Model financial impact of new product launches costs incorporating both hard and soft costs along with billable revenues.
- Provide ad-hoc analyses as requested by the business or corporate office.
- Travel as needed (up to 20%) to SCN BestCo sites.
| Required Qualifications |
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
- 10 years’ experience across such functions as financial planning and analysis (FP&A), cost accounting, and controllership.
- 5 years’ experience in manufacturing industry.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel.
- Experienced user of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze business processes and performance in a manufacturing environment including inventory, standard costing, and yield/productivity metrics.
- Strong practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal staff and management. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Master’s degree (MBA) or CPA certification.
- CFA designation.
- Experience in consumer goods industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Hyperion or similar OLAP (online analytical processing) reporting systems.
- Experienced user of SAP ERP system.
