Position Overview:

The Director of Supply Chain Management (SCM) position leads the Planning, Warehouse/Logistics, Change Management, Learning & Development, and Lean Manufacturing (MPS) teams at our Manufacturing Division Wilson site. The SCM Lead is responsible for managing both incoming and outgoing supply for the Wilson site. The SCM Lead provides tactical and strategic direction to the site team and ensures alignment of the site with value chain and our company's supply network priorities. The SCM Lead is also responsible for driving continuous improvement activities and efficiency at the Wilson site in alignment with lean manufacturing principles and applicable regulations. The position will also be expected to promote a positive work environment and culture within the team.

Primary Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities for the Director of Supply Chain Management position will include but not be limited to:

  • COMPLIANCE: Accountable for all work managed within the SCM organization being in compliance with cGMP, EHS, and Labor regulation. SCM team will be required to support and lead compliance investigations as needed. Accountable for escalating and managing events and/or trends that have potential impact to supply. Responsible for addressing any gaps identified in the SCM organization from a compliance perspective.

  • SUPPLY PLANNING: Leads the SCM management team providing guidance to resolve potential supply concerns and optimize site performance. Strives to ensure shop floor stability to support consistent reliable supply from the site. Also acts as liaison between our Manufacturing Division Wilson site and the network planning hub. Responsible for supporting efforts to align the site to the network supply chain strategy, helping team members understand, adapt, and execute those strategies in a fit for purpose way at the site. The SCM Lead will also represent the site from a supply chain perspective at various network and divisional forums.

  • METRICS & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: The SCM Lead is accountable for achieving business, performance, and compliance goals for the SCM team and site consistent with lean principles. Accountable to the Site Leadership Team for identifying and resolving performance gaps related to the SCM organization or supply. Accountable to develop and maintain standard work for the SCM organization. Identifies, prioritizes and champions improvement projects across the site to improve supply reliability to/from the site as well as reduce process variability and eliminate waste.

  • BUDGETING: The SCM Lead is responsible for developing and monitoring the organization’s operating budget, staffing plan, and capital plan. Additionally, the SCM Lead will provide forecasts for progress against financial commitments and close any associated gaps.

  • PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: The SCM Lead is accountable for staffing and allocating resources to ensure critical business needs are met for the SCM organization. They are expected to provide effective leadership to the team including coaching, employee development, and performance management. Partners with Site Leadership to plan and implement talent management for the site. Also must ensure that a positive work environment and culture are maintained within the team.

Education Requirement:

BA/BS degree in business administration, science, or another technical field; master's degree preferred.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in more than one functional area, such as Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Operations, Quality Operations, Technical Operations, Technical Support, Engineering, Production Planning, or New Products Planning in a pharmaceutical environment.

  • Experience with production planning utilizing MRPII Systems (SAP experience preferred)

  • Demonstrated strong leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to coach, influence and support others through a culture of inclusion, feedback and empowerment

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams to achieve stretch goals

  • Working knowledge of EHS and GMP regulatory requirements as they apply to a pharmaceutical industrial facility

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience managing multi-layer complex organizations

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of operational excellence tools, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, problem solving, and/or right first-time methodologies

  • Familiarity with change execution management tools

  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections (FDA or other international agencies)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The salary range for this role is

$169,700.00 - $267,200.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
