Reports To: Ken Zayed Senior Director, Global Supply Chain-Warehouse Operation
Schedule: Regular business hours with on-call availability
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Position Overview

KBI Biopharma is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead warehouse and logistics operations at the Hamlin site in Durham, NC. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient, compliant, and reliable material management in support of pharmaceutical manufacturing and development.

The Warehouse Manager will oversee the Warehouse Supervisor and Material Coordinators on weekday shifts, providing leadership, operational direction, and process standardization to support manufacturing operations. The position is accountable for driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings:

  • Deep expertise in GMP warehousing, logistics, and material management.

  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems (ASCTrac and SAP).

  • A proven track record of standardizing processes, improving efficiency, and leading high-performing teams in regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to warehouse staff, ensuring consistent performance, regulatory compliance (cGMP, Client, and FDA audits), and strong customer service.

  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized warehouse environments; implement best practices and process improvements.

  • Oversee material receipt, storage, dispensing, and distribution of GMP raw materials, intermediates, bulk drug substances, and finished products.

  • Partner with scheduling teams to plan dispensing and distribution, ensuring alignment with manufacturing requirements.

  • Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliations, audits, and financial controls; safeguard material and equipment assets.

  • Direct shipping and receiving operations, ensuring compliance with GMP and interstate regulations; establish and monitor logistics metrics.

  • Collaborate with carriers and third-party providers to optimize logistics and evaluate financial impact of routing and carrier decisions.

  • Act as back-up to the Associate Director of Warehouse Operations to ensure continuity of leadership.

  • Support staff development through coaching, training, performance reviews, and succession planning; foster a high-performing culture.

  • Establish effective team scheduling, daily operations management, and long-term capacity planning for warehouse and inventory storage requirements.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate material movement within Warehouse and Manufacturing areas.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for issue resolution with internal clients and functional partners.

Qualifications

Skills & Competencies

  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical or biotech warehouse and logistics management, including multi-site or multi-shift leadership.

  • Strong knowledge of cGMP regulations and regulatory requirements for material handling and logistics.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (ASCTrac and SAP) and MS Office Suite.

  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate priorities and influence across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work in a high-demand environment, with on-call availability to support 24/7 operations.

Education & Experience

  • BS/MS degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field with 4+ years logistics/warehouse experience (including 3+ years in Biopharma or GMP).

  • BS degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field with 6+ years logistics/warehouse experience (including 5+ years in Biopharma or GMP).

  • HS diploma/GED with 8+ years logistics/warehouse experience in a Biopharma or GMP environment.

  • APICS and/or NAPM certification preferred.
