Isosceles Pharmaceuticals is a clinical stage company developing a synthetic cannabidiol based iv therapy for acute postoperative pain, with potential immunology expansion. A Phase I human trial accepted, with first patient dosing planned for spring through summer 2026. Isosceles is also completing R&D on a CDC-used, needle-free, dissolving intradermal microneedle platform for repeat, at-home use.
This fully remote summer internship supports Isosceles Pharmaceuticals during Phase I clinical study execution and results analysis. Interns will assist with research, data review, and preparation of documentation for upcoming clinical trials. Responsibilities include supporting preclinical studies involving immune checkpoint inhibitors, IV and pain inflammation programs using the microneedle platform and reviewing grant materials related to microneedle development.
Qualifications: Currently pursuing a degree in biology, biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline. Strong interest in drug development, translational research, and early-stage clinical programs. Experience with data analysis, literature review, and scientific writing required. The intern should be comfortable developing clear, data-driven slide decks to support investor and Series A fundraising efforts. Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong organizational and communication skills. Familiarity with immuno-oncology (PD-1, NK), venture capital, or diligence processes is a plus.
This program is funded through the North Carolina Biotechnology Center's Industrial Internship Program. IIP internships are designed to be spring/summer internships with specific dates/hours to be determined by company needs and candidate availability.
