Serve as an on-site Laboratory Animal Veterinarian at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS).

· Provide laboratory animal expertise for the Comparative Medicine Group, Comparative & Molecular Pathogenesis Branch, Division of Translational Toxicology (DTT).

· Have working knowledge of the National Toxicology Program (NTP)/DTT health monitoring program.

· Have working knowledge of the NTP/DTT environmental enrichment guidelines and processes.

· Have knowledge of the animal models used in NTP/DTT studies.

· Have excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

· Education:

o D.V.M. from an accredited college of veterinary medicine or the equivalent and licensed to practice veterinary medicine in at least one state

o Board certified by the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine

· Experience:

o Laboratory animal medicine with the NTP/DTT/NIEHS

· Skills:

o Laboratory Animal Medicine expertise

o Excellent communication skills

o Computer literate
