Position Summary: The Quality System Representative is primarily responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001:2000 standards. Key duties include maintaining QMS documentation in accordance with ISO standards and maintaining management representative activities involved with the QMS. This position will also maintain the training system for the Hickory QMS program.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain all Quality Management System documentation to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards, as well as customer and Gusmer-specific requirements across multiple site locations.
- Process Document Change Orders in a timely manner, receiving input from the appropriate personnel and management on documentation, and coordinating necessary training on document changes.
- Ensure that controlled copies of documentation are maintained in designated locations to ensure compliance and accessibility; while managing the red-line system as needed.
- Coordinate periodic reviews of all QMS documentation in accordance with defined intervals, engaging relevant personnel and management to ensure accuracy; facilitate follow-up training as needed to support updated procedures.
- Provide support for customer required audits, including serving as an audit escort and participating in audit responses and follow-ups.
- Coordinate Corporate ISO Consistency efforts including controlling and updating all corporate documentation.
- Coordinate the associated documentation training, and overall training program at the Hickory site.
- Assist with QMS orientation for new hires and deliver employee training when required.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Gusmer employees including but not limited to the Waupaca and Fresno QMS managers, local production, office, and lab personnel. Participate in activities for Non-Conforming Material Report (NCMR) and customer complaint systems, including attending meetings and providing final sign-off on quality system forms.
Other Duties
- Help evaluate QMS activities and tools as appropriate to provide effective solutions for employees and the Company.
- Coordinate and lead Quality Council meetings and activities including implementation of recommended QMS improvements.
- Collaborate with multiple departments such as QMS, Human Resources, and office administration, offering assistance as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in office administration, communications, quality system management, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 2-5 years of work experience in ISO9001 certified company or other highly regulated environments with some involvement in QMS.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) Required
- Knowledge of ISO9001 standard and implementation in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to multi-task and handle variety of projects and assignments on a daily basis.
- Ability to work well with others to ensure success of system.
- Ability to take requirements and concepts and convert to written instructions.
- Excellent organizational abilities to maintain status of 800-1200 documents, with many pending changes at any given time.
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Office word processing and spreadsheet knowledge.

Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Acute hearing is necessary for telephone and in-person communication with customers and fellow employees, and visual acuity sufficient to read a computer screen and paper documents.
Working Conditions
This position typically functions in a combination of an office and plant environment; there will be exposure to moderate noise levels, fumes, dust, chemicals, heat/cold and allergens especially in plant/warehouse environment.
