At Sanner America’s Durham office, we are looking for a Manger, Mechanical Engineering to join our growing team driving innovative solutions for patients and customers. In this role you will oversee the technical execution of project objectives related to mechanical engineering and the development of new products. This is working manager position where you will provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to the mechanical engineering team while ensuring high-quality, timely, and effective project deliverables

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a mechanical engineering technical lead, providing technical guidance, resolving engineering issues, and driving effective design solutions
  • Engage with product users and stakeholders to understand user needs and incorporate human factors considerations into mechanical engineering solutions
  • Lead concept-generation and technical brainstorming activities
  • Apply creative problem-solving and sound engineering judgment to address complex technical challenges
  • Prepare and deliver presentations that clearly communicate technical concepts, engineering approaches, and proposed solutions
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders in a technical capacity
  • Review and approve proposed engineering designs, detailed drawings, and subsequent product enhancements or changes
  • Balance technical and product requirements with project budgets, schedules, available resources, and business priorities
  • Support business development activities, including technical input for proposals and customer opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships consistent with Gilero's core values
  • Actively manage and develop the mechanical engineering team to ensure timely deliverables, efficient execution, and achievement of company objectives and performance metrics

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 4-year technical degree
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience leading people or project teams, previous people management experience a plus
  • Knowledge of medical device regulations, including FDA and ISO requirements, preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a range of audiences
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and vendors in a technical capacity
  • Knowledge and experience with design for injection molding and high-volume automation
  • Experience with CAD, including advanced SolidWorks modeling techniques
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
