Position Purpose / Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the efficient and accurate flow of materials and finished goods within the Farmina Reidsville manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for coordinating all inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring compliance with company quality and safety standards. The Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact between the production, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished pet food products. This role supports Farmina’s commitment to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards in pet nutrition manufacturing.
Work Environment
This role involves working in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures. The Warehouse Supervisor may be required to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift, up to 50 lbs. PPE must be worn in designated areas.
Requirements
- Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years’ warehouse supervisory or management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and best safety practices.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

- Proficient in using manufacturing software, MS Office, and familiar with ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision & Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse workers, providing direction, motivation, and support to achieve warehouse goals.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and ensure compliance with plant policies and safety regulations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and safety.
- Warehouse Management
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Create and implement processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure proper warehouse flow for productivity and safety
- Lead, train, and mentor warehouse staff to optimize performance and maintain high standards.
- Ensure accurate inventory management, including cycle counts and audits.
- Maintain warehouse safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Oversee the proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage and loss.
- Coordinate with other departments, including production and logistics, to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and maintain warehouse equipment, scheduling repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Generate reports and analyze warehouse performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure that all products meet the quality standards and specifications established by the company and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct routine quality checks, document findings, and ensure corrective actions are taken when needed.
- Maintain compliance with safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations, including FDA and USDA standards for pet food.
- Safety & Risk Management
- Promote and enforce a safe working environment by adhering to OSHA regulations, conducting safety training, and ensuring that team members follow safety protocols.
- Address potential safety hazards promptly and implement corrective measures to prevent accidents.
- Continuous Improvement
- Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives, contributing ideas for cost-saving and efficiency projects.
