Position Purpose
The Logistics Clerk is responsible for supporting all logistics operations including shipping and receiving, at Farmina Pet Foods. This role ensures accurate documentation of inbound and outbound shipments, facilitates communication between departments, and delivers professional front desk experience for all visitors and callers as needed. The position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- 1st Shift hours are Monday through Friday 10 AM to 6 PM. There may be times when the schedule may be modified based on company needs. Overtime and weekend work may be required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or logistics training preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or inventory control, plus administrative or receptionist support
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, detailed-oriented, and professional
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inventory Control
- Coordinate with production staff to validate incoming shipments
- Review packing lists, invoices, and purchase orders for accuracy
- Record deliveries in inventory systems and maintain proper stock records
- Identify and report damaged or incorrect goods
- Ensure receiving documentation (digital and physical) is audit-ready
Shipping Operations
- Coordinate daily outbound shipments in alignment with production schedules
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to validate outgoing shipments
- Prepare shipping documents including bills of lading, packing slips, and labels
- Communicate with carriers to schedule pickups and ensure timely delivery
- Verify that orders are complete and accurately documented before shipment
- Maintain organized logs and tracking information for outbound freight
Inventory & Logistics Support
- Support cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and reconciliation efforts
- Collaborate with purchasing and warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies
- Assist with ongoing updates to inventory management systems
