Position Overview
The Recruitment Marketing & Patient Engagement Specialist supports patient recruitment efforts by bridging marketing, recruitment, and study-level requirements. This role focuses on developing patient-facing communications, translating protocol criteria into recruiter-friendly tools, and improving consistency across recruitment workflows.
This position plays a key role in ensuring clear, compliant, and effective communication with patients while supporting recruiter efficiency and scalability across sites.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Communications (Email & SMS)
- Build and execute email campaigns for:
- Active study recruitment
- Database re-engagement and nurturing
- Monthly internal and external newsletters
- Draft and manage SMS/text campaigns using platforms such as SimpleTexting (or similar)
- Segment audiences and manage campaign lists to improve targeting and engagement
- Ensure all patient-facing communications align with IRB-approved language and requirements
Prescreening & Study Translation
- Translate inclusion/exclusion (I/E) criteria into:
- Patient-friendly prescreener scripts
- Recruiter-friendly call flows that follow natural patient conversations
- Collaborate with regulatory teams to ensure prescreeners are IRB-compliant when required
- Prepare materials for integration into phone systems, AI agents, or recruitment tools
Recruitment Enablement & Training Support
- Develop internal recruitment guides for each study, including:
- Study duration, visit schedules, and procedures
- Key eligibility criteria and talking points
- Frequently asked questions and patient-facing explanations
- Support standardization of recruiter materials and workflows across sites
- Contribute to improving consistency in recruiter training and patient communication
Operational & Administrative Support
- Maintain organized documentation of study materials, communications, and workflows
- Track and manage campaign schedules, updates, and study changes
- Support cross-functional collaboration between Marketing, Recruitment, and Regulatory teams
- Assist in building scalable processes for recruitment communications
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
Preferred:
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact or similar)
- Experience with SMS/text platforms (e.g., SimpleTexting or similar)
- Basic understanding of audience segmentation and campaign workflows
- Exposure to clinical research, patient recruitment, or IRB processes
- Experience writing prescreeners, scripts, or structured communication materials
