Position Summary
The Senior Laboratory Systems Analyst serves as the primary Information Systems business partner supporting Exela's Quality Control, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, and Research & Development laboratories. The role is responsible for the support, optimization, enhancement, and strategic advancement of laboratory systems including LabVantage, Moda, and associated laboratory technologies.
This position provides leadership for laboratory informatics initiatives, instrument integrations, and continuous improvement efforts while partnering closely with laboratory leadership to maximize the value of Exela's technology investments. The role also supports manufacturing equipment integrations and operational technologies as part of Exela's digital transformation strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary IS owner and support resource for LabVantage, Moda, and other laboratory applications.
- Partner with QC, Microbiology, QA, and R&D leaders to identify, prioritize, and deliver laboratory technology initiatives.
- Own and drive laboratory systems projects from requirements definition through implementation and post-go-live support.
- Lead laboratory instrument integration activities, including planning, coordination, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Support networking and connectivity requirements for laboratory instruments and associated technologies.
- Coordinate application upgrades, enhancements, validation activities, and release deployments.
- Work closely with Quality and Validation teams to ensure systems remain compliant with GMP and data integrity expectations.
- Manage relationships with laboratory system vendors, implementation partners, and consultants.
- Develop internal expertise and reduce long-term reliance on external consulting resources.
- Provide advanced support and root cause analysis for laboratory application and integration issues.
- Identify opportunities to optimize existing laboratory systems and increase utilization of current capabilities.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations teams on manufacturing equipment integrations and operational technology initiatives.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, support procedures, and training materials.
- Participate in on-call and after-hours support activities as business needs dictate.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting laboratory systems within a regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device environment.
- Experience supporting Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and/or laboratory execution systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects involving laboratory technologies.
- Experience working within FDA-regulated environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting LabVantage LIMS.
- Experience supporting Moda ES and/or Moda EM.
- Experience with laboratory instrument integrations and interface technologies.
- Knowledge of computerized system validation principles.
- Understanding of networking concepts as they relate to laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operational technologies.
