As a biomedical engineering intern at CytexOrtho, you will collaborate closely with our small team of scientists and engineers to support cutting-edge orthopedic implant development. Your tasks will include designing engineering solutions for cellular and acellular product advancements, conducting mechanical and biochemical testing on implants and tissues, and collaborating on R&D activities. This role offers hands-on experience in innovative medical technology development.

Qualifications:

Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum introductory level understanding in biomechanics, material science, and/or tissue engineering.

Laboratory experience in mechanical testing, tissue biochemistry, or related experimental techniques is a plus.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Comfortable in a learn-as-you-go startup environment.

Previous research or project experience is preferred but not required.

This program is funded through the North Carolina Biotechnology Center's Industrial Internship Program. IIP internships are designed to be spring/summer internships with specific dates/hours to be determined by company needs and candidate availability.
