Job Summary:

The Scientist at Crown Bioscience NC will lead the development, execution, and analysis of research projects. This role involves collaborating with research associates conducting experiments according to a research protocol, collecting data, and contributing to the development of new research models and techniques, cooperating with researchers in other Crown sites to complete the research projects and update the progress to internal or external partners. The Scientist together with senior research associates and scientific support will help with training research associates on the conduct of scientific studies and surgical techniques in rodent models. The scientist will also assist in coordination of general operations of the research facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Main scientist responsible for execution and oversight of internal and external scientific project assignments.

  • Responsible for study design, protocol development and optimization, study progress report and final report delivery.

  • Responsible for client communication on the assigned studies.

  • Responsible for internal communication with technical teams and all other internal functions that are needed to support the study delivery.

  • Resolve scientific and other issues to complete the projects.

  • Provide the support to assist the scientific and technical training to research associates and general operation of research facility.

  • Comply with company regulations and rules.

  • Complete other tasks assigned by leaders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or M.D. in biology related field with good comprehension of pharmacology, oncology, and immunology. Master’s degree with rich working experience in pharmacology may also qualify.

  • Good at literature searching and reading. Capable of experimental design, protocol development, and data report writing.

  • Capable of trouble shooting and data analysis (using statistical tools).

  • Excellent communication skills, oral and writing. Capable of scientific presentation, both oral and writing.

  • Strong sense of responsibility. Hard-working and self-motivated. Efficient and capable of meeting timelines.

  • Capable of multitasking with good organization and prioritization skills.

  • Pleasant interpersonal skills and be able to work with different teams as a leading or supporting function.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiar with animal experiments, and drug discovery process. Hands-on experience in animal studies, surgeries or necropsy will be a plus.

  • Previous research experience in PDX model development is preferred.

  • Scientific publications/presentations in peer-reviewed journals or relevant scientific meetings will be a plus.
