Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for overseeing an inventory team. Oversees and manages cycle counting, adjustment investigation, inventory accuracy and error tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage Cycle Count Process per scheduled cycle including financial approval and systems adjustment and reconciliation when appropriate.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action on inventory discrepancies/variances (i.e. Cycle Count).
  • Define and manage Inventory Metrics including Cycle Count Accuracy (physical & financial), adjustment metrics and reasons, inventory improvement projects, etc.
  • Support Inventory team during auditing of data/processes.
  • Identify continuous Process improvements in inventory management/warehouse processes.
  • Provides direction to direct reports using established policies and precedents and leads process improvement activities when identified.
  • Active participation in projects that impacts the inventory on site (physically/financial).

Experience/Education – Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, technical field or related
  • Minimum 1 year experience in supply chain/logistics, inventory control or material planning within a manufacturing or distribution facility

Desired Skills:

  • APICS certification
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing
  • Minimum 1 year people management experience
  • Experience within Inventory Controls
  • Strong supply chain knowledge from multiple roles and perspectives
  • User of ERP and / or WMS systems in inventory modules
  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills

The range for this position is $65,243.00 - $89,710.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
