Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope of Position:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Material Control Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of inbound shipments. The ideal candidate will collaborate with warehouse staff, vendors, and internal departments to oversee receiving operations, verify documentation, and maintain inventory accuracy. Proficiency in SAP is highly preferred, as you will rely on the system to track inventory, process goods receipts, and generate reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inbound Shipment Coordination: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments, ensuring they align with purchase orders and accompanying documentation.

• SAP System Management: Utilize SAP to process goods receipts, maintain accurate inventory records, and generate reports.

• Documentation: Organize and complete all receiving paperwork, including bills of lading, packing slips, and invoices.

• Quality Checks: Identify damaged or incorrect items, report issues to vendors, and coordinate returns or replacements.

• Collaboration: Partner with procurement, inventory, and shipping teams to optimize receiving processes and address discrepancies.

• Inventory Control: Monitor and update inventory levels in SAP, assist with cycle counts, and participate in inventory audits. Manage returns of rejected materials and process SAP transactions for vendor credit.

• Compliance: Ensure receiving operations adhere to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports in SAP to provide insights into inventory and receiving activities.

• Continuous Improvement: Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, including maximizing SAP functionalities.

• Return Material Authorization: Process return material authorizations (RMAs) for finished goods.

Experience and Education – Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent 2–3 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in SAP, especially in warehouse management, inventory, and goods receipt modules. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of lifting and moving heavy items (up to [insert weight, e.g., 35 lbs]) and standing for extended periods.

Experience and Education – Desired

  • Associates or Technical degree additional certifications in supply chain, logistics, or SAP are a plus.
  • High level of accuracy in identifying discrepancies and verifying shipments.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with other warehouse tools, such as barcode scanners or automated inventory systems.

The range for this position is $47,967.00 - $65,955.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
