The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Scope of Position:
An intern working in Software Asset Management (SAM), will work with tools like ServiceNow SAM Pro, and have responsibilities that support the SAM team in optimizing software assets and ensuring compliance.

Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Analysis: Assisting in gathering data on software installations, usage, and licenses across the organization. Analyzing reports generated by ServiceNow SAM Pro to identify trends, gaps, or potential compliance issues.
- License Reconciliation: Helping to reconcile software licenses with actual usage to ensure compliance and avoid over- or under-licensing.
- Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve SAM workflows and automation using ServiceNow features, under the guidance of senior team members.
- Documentation: Creating and updating documentation related to SAM processes, policies, and tool usage, ensuring clear communication and compliance standards.
- Research: Staying updated on software licensing trends and vendor policies to assist the SAM team in adapting strategies.
- Collaboration: Working closely with IT, procurement, and finance teams to ensure alignment and effective management of software assets. Overall, the intern's role is to provide hands-on support in managing and optimizing software assets while gaining valuable experience in SAM processes and tools.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or IT related degree
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Relevant experience a plus
Desired Skills:
- Basic IT Knowledge regarding software and hardware is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data analysis skills.

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
