Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
The purpose of the Process Technician position is to maximize production yields throughout the TCP ribboning process. Technicians are responsible for dispositioning rejected product that require additional review. When issues arise in production that cannot be resolved by operations or maintenance, it is the technician’s responsibility to provide technical support and contact appropriate member(s) of the engineering/continuous improvement team to drive issues to resolution.
This position includes significant duties such as:
- Ensure production ribbon lines are operational.
- Troubleshoot technical issues throughout clean space and coach on adherence to SOP.
- Dispositioning of engineering rejects within ribbon process area.
- Provide technical support to production & escalation to the appropriate personnel when needed
- Coordinate with larger engineering team to improve processes & product flow.
- Foster a team environment to optimize quality output of product and promote safety awareness
- Technical shift handover from night shift to day shift process & controls engineers/technicians.

Hours of work/work schedule:
- Night shift (7pm-7am) following initial training period
- 8am – 5pm Mon-Fri Day shift for initial 2-3 months of training with TCP
Engineering team Required:
- Certified Flow Ribboning Operator
- High School or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Strong Communication Skills
- Ability to multi-task and plan ahead (Adapt to fluid, challenging conditions)

The range for this position is $29.75 hourly rate - $34.50 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
