The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized with excellent laboratory skills and good communication skills. The candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment where everyone holds each other accountable.
Major Responsibilities:
- Perform research and tests in support of product development and validation
- Work both independently and on a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Work under senior staff to develop/test assays, kits, and reagents
- Work within appropriate regulatory framework (GLP, GMP) where required
- Maintain organized electronic and paper records of experimental conditions and results
- Generate reports using provided data analysis software and templates
- Assure that work is completed in a timely fashion
- Work within a Biosafety Class 2 laboratory, following appropriate protocols and procedures
- Identify and troubleshoot potential problems with the help of senior staff
- Present data at regular meetings and contribute to scientific publications
- Occasional evening or weekend work when required
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or master's in biology, biochemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, chemistry, molecular biology or related discipline
- Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of experience
- Adept at handling DNA, RNA, and biological/clinical samples with aseptic technique
- Experience with standard life science techniques including RT-PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, and immunoassays / ELISAs
- Comfortable working with iterations of prototype devices and assay protocols
- A curious disposition, a drive to learn scientific principles and techniques and creatively apply them to develop novel, impactful products
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of industry experience
- Understanding of Design Controls and history of working in an FDA-regulated environment and/or in accordance with GLP
