Position Summary:
Is responsible for inventory strategy and sizing, by monitoring shelf life/calibration management (when required) over his/her finished and spare parts products portfolio, in order to reach targeted service level at optimized costs. Computes SLA (when applicable) and stock parameters and provides manufacturing sites, external suppliers and distribution platforms with the netted unconstrained demand signal. Propose inventory and supply scenarios and put in place transport modes and distribution strategy for products (routine and phase in/out). Manage supply risks, drive products allocations and communicate on backorders or excess/scrap risks and actions plans for mitigation and recovery in collaboration with global/regional/local supply representatives and business partners with a constant focus on customers and continuous improvement. These activities are operated in (potential) co-build with demand managers. Roles may be adapted in link with end-to-end inventory assessment project and actions roadmap
This role can be location in both Durham, NC and St. Louis, MO
Primary Duties:
- Monitor SLA, when applicable, and stock parameters for distribution centers ensuring compliance and initiating reviews based on production, distribution or market changes.
- Provide manufacturing sites and suppliers with netted unconstrained demand signals from sales/demand forecasts, prioritizing production plans and leading Supply Review meetings and associated decisions/action plans.
- Contribute to distribution strategies in the S&OP process, assisting in managing the air/sea ratio and suggesting adjustments.
- Help identify and limit back-orders and scrap risks, supporting allocations and promotions while coordinating with Replenishment Planners during supply crisis.
- Manage supply crisis, taskforces on strategic and/or complex products supply crisis.
- Support planning for stock builds, ramp-up and slow down operations during product launches and phase-outs, ensuring service levels are met and data is maintained.
- Monitor worldwide inventory levels for all products in required scope.
- Responsible for split batch corrections following risks identified in inventory monitoring.
- Reviews decision on central warehousing & distribution strategy per reference, balancing logistics costs with scrap risk and serviceability
- Contributes to exceptional flow management review, action, and improvement
- Maintains master data & MRP views on International Distribution Centers in the Information System, and ensures data quality (min/max/Safety stock/lead times)
- Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain key brands/Planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective and efficient problem analysis that leads to high-quality decisions.
- Learning agility to be able to learn from experiences and apply that knowledge to new situations.
- Detail orientation to complete tasks without errors and produce high-quality work.
