The role primarily supports M-F day shift. Candidates must be willing to support rotational weekend work (likely every other weekend) as required to meet project timelines and operational priorities.

About This Role

The QC Bioassay & Virology group in RTP, NC has an opportunity for an Associate III within the release and stability testing team. The group supports Quality Control testing of GMP samples using a broad range of biological analytical methods, including bioassays, cell-based assays, PCR, ELISAs, potency and binding assays. The team also provides reagent qualification testing, validation and transfer of analytical methods, and technical support of QC investigations.

This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently, collaboratively within a team, and across business functions.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform release and stability testing of drug substance materials using bioassays, cell-based assays, ELISAs, PCR, and other biological methods.
  • Support laboratory operations including media preparation, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
  • Review data and documentation in a timely manner and ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Execute method transfers, reagent qualification, analytical improvement projects, and validation of analytical methods in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Support maintenance of laboratory systems to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.

Who You Are

You are detail-oriented, scientifically curious, and thrive in a GMP laboratory environment. You have strong aseptic and cell culture technique, with the ability to troubleshoot and adapt. You are collaborative, eager to learn, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with cell culture techniques and biological testing (bioassays, ELISAs, PCR, potency/binding assays) within a GMP biotech manufacturing environment
  • Excellent laboratory technique, experimental design, and documentation practices
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in virology methods and cell-based analytical testing
  • Experience with statistical experimental design and data analysis (JMP, Excel)
  • Experience with LIMS-based laboratory result reporting
  • Relevant experience in reagent qualification, method validation and transfer

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $68,000.00-$88,000.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
