We're currently hiring for Part Time Analysts with experience in bioanalytical assays (immunoassays & biomarkers specifically) in our Durham lab. This is a great opportunity for experienced scientists seeking reduced hours and/or who are looking for long-term flexibility.
This is a paid role with steady hours and the opportunity to contribute to important client projects in a respected CRO environment.
We're looking for candidates interested in working a maximum of 24 hours per week with a consistent schedule of 3 consecutive 8-hour working days. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in GLP/GMP environments, and a passion for advancing scientific knowledge.

Job Overview:

  • As a Part-Time Analyst, you will support method validation and sample analysis for biologics and biomarkers using immunoassay platforms—primarily ELISA—within a regulated GLP/GMP environment.
  • In collaboration with Scientists and Managers, you’ll contribute to the execution of complex studies, troubleshoot technical challenges, and deliver high-quality, reliable data.
  • This role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of sample types, including biologics, proteins, peptides, small molecules, and biomarkers, while working with a team of expert scientists. You'll also gain hands-on experience with a range of analytical instrumentation, with each project offering new scientific challenges and learning opportunities.
  • Participate in sample analysis, prepare buffers, utilize LIMS system, run assays independently

Desired Educational and Laboratory Backgrounds

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, biotechnology, or related field with multiple years' experience in a regulated scientific laboratory environment.
  • Skilled in cell or plate-based assays such as ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Gene Expression assays, and/or binding assays
  • Skilled in separation-based assays such as HPLC, GC, CE, Mass Spec, and/or SDS-Page
  • Experience working in a GxP environment

Desired Skillsets

  • Ability to carry out routine tasks accurately, following strict methodology to carry out analysis, preparing samples and maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment.
  • Must work effectively within team to meet objectives under time constraints
  • Ability to take direction well and multi-task
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel and Word

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing and analysis in compliance with GLP/GMP regulations.
  • Support project-specific laboratory activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing laboratory workflows as needed.

Working Environment & Schedule

  • Primarily laboratory environment
  • Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms
  • This is a part-time position scheduled for up to 24 hours per week. The standard schedule is 8 hours per day, 3 days per week (e.g., Monday, Wednesday, Friday).
