As we prepare to bring our first product to market in 2026, we are seeking technicians to join our team.
The Electrical Controls Technician is responsible for maintaining automated systems used in manufacturing and production processes. This role ensures reliable operation of control systems, drives, and instrumentation that support plant efficiency, quality, and safety goals. The technician will collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement through innovative control solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair automation and control system issues across PLCs, HMIs, Ethernet/IP networks, and industrial I/O systems; perform effective root-cause analysis to prevent repeat failures.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot VFDs, servo drives, sensors, actuators, and process instrumentation to ensure consistent and reliable equipment performance.
• Partner with Facilities, Maintenance, and Production teams to improve machine uptime, support preventive/predictive maintenance activities, and enhance overall equipment reliability.
• Install, wire, and commission new electrical components, control panels, and automated systems while ensuring compliance with codes, safety standards, and internal documentation requirements.
• Assist with modifications to PLC logic and HMI interfaces during troubleshooting, upgrades, or new equipment integration, and maintain accurate documentation of changes.
• Support commissioning, testing, and validation of new production and process equipment, particularly during scale-up and factory readiness activities.
• Conduct routine inspections of control cabinets and automated equipment to identify early signs of electrical, mechanical, or network issues and proactively address them before impacting operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the controls field, preferably in food manufacturing or the biopharma industry. The incumbent Electrical Controls Technician will have a combination of skills, education, and skills that demonstrate the ability to fulfill all aspects of this job description.
- Experience with Rockwell PLC, VFD, HMI troubleshooting.
- Experience using HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Wonderware, etc.).
- Ability to troubleshoot industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, etc.).
- Understanding of electrical schematics, control panel design, and instrumentation wiring.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues in live production environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot and isolate controls I/O problems.
- Authorized to work in the US (Believer is an E-Verify participant).
