What You'll Be Doing
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance activities and predictive diagnostics such as adjustments, replacement of machine parts and replacement of 24VDC electronic components.
- Ability to use Robotic Pendants to home and reset Robots as needed.
- Investigate, identify and correct any inefficiency in machine performance; diagnose mechanical wear, alignment, adjustment, and setup issues.
- Cleaning and lubrication while supporting Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
- Document required information on manufacturing logs and/or POMS system and initiate work orders in Maximo
- Notify the Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, discrepancy, or major mechanical issues occur.
- Identify process improvements on existing process and equipment.
- Work with Maintenance team to analyze machine failures for root cause and implement corrective actions
- Assist and support establishment of machine parameters, performing validations and protocols.
- May participate in Continuous Improvement, Project and Safety Teams, Lean Initiatives, Value Stream led activities and defect prevention programs.
- Support project work to improve and modify assigned production equipment; assist in the installation of new manufacturing equipment.
- Assist in annual inspections.
- Ensure the proper use, care, and storage of tools and equipment.
- Train new associates on responsible processes
- Communicate with outgoing shift personnel to obtain information regarding any problems with machines, materials, etc. encountered during the previous shift and review point of use tool inventory.
- Learn, understand, and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles including maintaining and securing provided tools.
Technical Skills

• HMI experience and controls/ladder logic understanding
Work Environment
- In a Controlled Environment which may include the following dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses, ear plugs, hairnet, beard cover, gown, shoe covers and gloves (additional PPE required when cleaning).
- Constant or intermittent noise.
- Involves working around moving equipment and machinery.
- Requires occasionally working with chemical cleaners and disinfectants necessary repairs.
What You'll Bring
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have basic English, written and oral, communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
- Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions, read and comprehend written work instructions – including words and drawings.
- Must be able to perform basic mathematics.
- Must have basic computer and mathematics skills.
- Basic knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics and robotics
- Possess or be able to obtain PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) Operator Certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and equivalent software
- Must possess strong data analysis and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in how to use a calculator and use of measurement tools as well as basic hand tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Production Technician or manufacturing experience with duties including preventative maintenance, machine troubleshooting, etc.
- Achieved Gold Standard on Career Readiness Certification
- Technical Training Certification
- Previous experience in automation, basic computer skills, and knowledge
- Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Leadership experience in a production role
- Mechatronics and computer-based education

Physical Requirements
- Requires the ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds and stand/walk continuously throughout the shift.
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the shift.
- Normal visual acuity required.
- Must be able to squat, climb, reach above shoulder level, reach at or below shoulder level, twist and bend at the neck, twist and bend at the waist and balance.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more visible with our pay practices. To that end, the starting salary for this position is $44,000.
