The role of Senior Principal Engineer- DevOps, provides technical or infra leadership to effectively define, design, execute DevOps strategy and drive quality assurance for new and existing components of the MPT-ITT portfolio.

What you'll be doing

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest innovations and advancements in DevOps, CI/CD, test automation, and test methodologies, and apply this knowledge to drive technical excellence.
  • Establish and maintain a performance monitoring and metrics-driven approach to ensure the speed, uptime, and reliability of all applications and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, product owners, and other stakeholders throughout the full software development lifecycle, from product concept to maintenance.
  • Drive initiatives to simplify developer and tester operational problems, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Lead the development and implementation of DevOps strategies, processes, and tools to support the product portfolio.
  • Mentor and guide other DevOps engineers, and provide technical guidance and support to ensure the success of the team.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer/ Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with 10 + years of work experience in software development and DevOps engineering.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software systems and infrastructure, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles, practices, and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, source control management, and infrastructure automation.
  • Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker), orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and cloud computing (e.g., AWS).
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Ruby, or PowerShell, and experience with automation tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based monitoring and logging tools, such as Grafana.
  • Experience with security practices and tools, including code signing, encryption, and access control.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, architects, and product owners.
  • Proactive and self-driven, possesses due sense of urgency.
  • Some travel required.

Build & CI/CD:

  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI pipelines for multi-language repositories.
  • Experience with code signing processes.
  • Advanced Git knowledge including branching strategies, merge conflict resolution, and repository management.
  • Experience managing code repositories across Gerrit and GitHub platforms.

Infrastructure & Configuration:

  • Familiar with Linux administration.
  • Ability to implement multi-VM environments for load, testing and deployment.
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot VPNs and network gateways for secure access.

Scripting & Automation:

  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash for automation and tooling.
  • Ability to troubleshoot build and deployment failures across different technology stacks.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $128,000 to $176,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
