The Trait Technology Lead is a pivotal leadership role responsible for designing and executing the technical enablement strategy for trait commercialization, beginning with the launch of Nemasphere. This role serves as the architect of technology demonstration and education trialing initiatives—including vision plots and other field-based learning experiences—and leads a growing team of Trait Technology Specialists. The Trait Technology Lead ensures consistent, high-quality knowledge transfer to licensees and internal stakeholders, enabling adoption through credible, science-based engagement and agronomic support.

- Designing and leading trait demonstration and education initiatives, including field trials, side-by-sides (SXS), and vision plots.
- Developing and implementing knowledge transfer strategies tailored to licensee and channel needs.
- Managing and growing the Trait Technology Specialist team, fostering technical excellence and customer focus.
- Providing coaching, direction, and performance oversight to ensure consistent delivery across regions.
- Ensuring technical credibility and consistency in trait messaging across all customer touchpoints.
- Partnering with Multichannel Commercial Leadership and Trait Marketing Lead to deliver a seamless customer journey.
- Interfacing with branded and licensing channel leaders to align technical support with commercialization goals.
- Representing the technical function in cross-functional planning and decision-making forums.
- Monitoring trait performance in the field and providing feedback to internal teams.
- Analyzing technical and agronomic data to inform strategy, support decision-making, and drive data-driven storytelling.
- Ensuring stewardship protocols are followed and technical risks are mitigated.
If you...
- Hold an advanced degree in Agronomy, Plant/Soil Science or related discipline (PhD preferred).
- Have 10+ years of experience in seed, trait, or agronomic technical support roles.
- Have seed industry experience in corn and soybean production (strongly preferred).
- Have proven experience leading field teams and managing technical enablement programs.
- Posses strong communication and presentation skills.
- Have the ability to lead others directly and by influence across a matrixed organization.
- Demonstrate the ability to translate white space into high-value technical programs.
- Are familiar with adult education principles and effective knowledge transfer strategies.
- Have strong skills in technical and agronomic data analysis and data-driven storytelling.
- Are able to travel up to 75% to engage with stakeholders and represent BASF at industry events.
