We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Team Leader in the Global Insecticide Research Advanced Biology Group (APR/IA) at BASF's research facility in Research Triangle Park, NC. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary program focused on the discovery and biological characterization of novel insecticides for advancement to develop novel products for the Professional and Specialty Solutions business.

- Managing the Non-Crop Advanced Testing Laboratory which focuses on discovery of novel insecticidal agents for uses in medical, veterinary, structural and urban pest management applications.
- Identifying and characterizing pest management solution candidate(s) and supporting commercial development of these candidates for the Professional & Specialty Solutions (P&SS) business unit.
- Interacting and collaborating with the Global Insecticide Discovery, Development, Chemistry, and P&SS formulation teams is essential to achieving strategic goals of the NCAT laboratory business function.
- Managing a team of direct reports, communicating easily with team members, peers and management, both local and global.
- Independently planning, scheduling and executing projects of high complexity.
- Providing unconventional and innovative solutions to project problems.
- Preparing written formal reports/ presentations on experimental procedures, results and project status. The position also includes limited greenhouse and field work.

- Have a MS with 8 years of relevant experience in the field of entomology. PhD is preferred.
- Are proficient in experimental design, development and data analysis.
- Possess a track-record of developing practical innovative technologies in the area of agricultural science.
- Have excellent interpersonal, management and organizational skills.
- Are a self-starter, confident communicator with strong leadership and team skills.
- Display solid written and verbal and presentation skills.
- Are able to effectively use MS-Word, -Excel and -PowerPoint, data analyses (e.g., ANOVA, logDose-Probit), and data presentation tools (incl. graphics software, photography, oral presentation).
- Have previous industry experience managing a team of direct reports (preferred), with the ability to lead members of diverse team and communicate research results to internal and external stakeholders effectively.
