As a Social Media Manager for North America, you will lead and manage BASF’s North American Agricultural Solutions social media strategy, integrating North American content and all content for United States-focused channels. With a focus on the strategic value of social media engagement within B2B and B2C frameworks, you will counsel, guide, and ensure that posts are relevant to BASF’s strategy and adhere to our global social media and brand standards. Through a consistent and strategic approach, you will enhance and protect the company’s brand and reputation within today’s dynamic and fast-paced social media environment.As a member of the Agricultural Solutions External Affairs team, you will also engage in a range of External Affairs activities, as well as those of the broader Communications team, as appropriate.
This role will require travel approximately 10% of the time.

- Connecting External Affairs, US Business teams (marketing, demand creation, technical services), and external agencies to ensure cohesive messaging.
- Managing the US social media content calendar, encompassing content development, campaigns, events, and product launches.
- Developing and executing the North American social media strategy, considering regional collaboration and country-specific variations.
- Establishing voice, tone, visual identity, and brand positioning in alignment with overall marketing goals.
- Collaborating with regional colleagues to manage the content calendar for the region, including region-specific content development, campaigns, and events relevant to Canada and the United States.
- Serving as the regional social media expert, offering expertise and providing ad-hoc support and training to local departments and colleagues.
If you...
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Possess at least three years of experience in managing business or corporate social media channels, or at least five years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or communications with a focus on digital media, preferably in a global, matrixed organization.
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including responsibility for leading projects with an external agency team.
- Bring experience in building and developing internal cross-functional networks, with the capacity to identify and communicate stories through various media to both external and internal audiences.
- Exhibit experience in creating, managing, and implementing social tactical plans for multiple business or corporate social media channels.
- Show a proven track record of converting an idea into a final social media-ready product using your photography/videography, editing, and writing skills.
