BASF’s Agricultural Solutions division connects innovation, customers, partners and agricultural experts and integrates sustainability criteria into all business decisions. We help farmers deliver the best possible outcomes, working to achieve the balance between economic, environmental, and social value creation for sustainable and efficient agriculture.

As a Licensing Marketing Operations Manager (LMOM), your primary role will be to deliver operational excellence to independent seed companies and national/regional retail accounts that in-license traits and germplasm from BASF. This role is pivotal in advancing BASF’s trait and genetics licensing business, achieving financial objectives, and fostering strong business relationships. The LMOM is responsible for demonstrating BASF’s key operational capabilities to licensees as a reliable long-term supplier of traits and germplasm. In this position, the LMOM will develop operational procedures for licensee soybean companies, ensuring efficient processes, clear communication between licensees and BASF, and that value propositions are fully captured.

As a Licensing Marketing Operations Manager - Midwest US or RTP, NC, you create chemistry by...

  • Managing operations related to licensee companies, ensuring efficient processes and effective operational communication across licensees and BASF.
  • Analyzing insights from the market, licensees, and market research and translating them into clear value propositions.
  • Developing, capturing, invoicing, tracking, and reporting BASF germplasm and trait value.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the seed industry and communicating effectively with internal stakeholders and licensees.
  • Seasonally reviewing seed POS reports to compare licensee sales volume with reported POS volume and ensure overall accuracy.

If you...

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Have 10 years of professional experience, including substantial operations experience in agriculture and preferably commercial seed.
  • Possess strong negotiation and influencing skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, and decisive strategic marketing operations abilities.
  • Own expertise in portfolio management, pricing, commercial excellence, and licensee business acumen (commercial, agronomy, logistics, distribution).
  • Are skilled at analyzing licensee sales reports to generate planning insights and applying grower/channel/influencer segmentation and customer insights to brand and marketing strategy.
  • Develop and deliver innovative, operations-driven license offers and implement value-based and transactional pricing aligned with customer-perceived value.
  • Have creative problem-solving skills, willingness to travel (~15%, possibly higher initially).
