The role
Asensus is hiring a R&D Technician to join their team. The R&D Technician will be a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team and will play a key role in supporting the development of next generation performance guided surgical systems. This role will provide direct support to product development teams. This role is responsible for executing assembly and test protocols, troubleshooting electro-mechanical assemblies, investigating non-conformances, and other duties as directed.
What You'll Do
- Support the build and assembly of prototypes.
- Perform testing to support product design, process and equipment validation.
- Assist engineers with product and process development and improvement.
- Assist engineers with the design transfer of products into manufacturing.
- Prepare test samples (products, materials, solutions) for routine and qualification testing.
- Perform troubleshooting of sub-assemblies and proceduresMaintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, and drawings.
- Manage equipment, fixtures and tools (EFTs) and maintain lab organization.
- All other duties as directed.
What You Bring
- Two-year Associate’s degree or equivalent certification.
- Comfortable using handheld and portable tools.
- Capable of assembling electro-mechanical devices.
- Read/Interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Create assembly instructions.
- Knowledge of CAD
Special Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- English (Full Professional Proficiency).
- Ability to lift/move items the size/weight of computer monitors, desktop computers, prototypes, and instruments.
- Soldering capability is desired.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing is desired.
